The Olympic Glove & Safety Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time service technician to work in our Gas Detection and SCBA shops. Located in Elmwood Park, Bergen County, NJ.
Full-time position Monday through Friday. Day to day schedule will vary. Some days will be spent 100% in Olympic shop/office. Others will be on-site at customer locations.
Job will require the ability to work flexible hours. Normal working hours 8-4:30 but some days/jobs may require early AM start. Eligible for overtime based on hours worked.
Job description will primarily include:
- the annual flow testing and repair of SCBA equipment
- the calibration and repair of gas detection equipment
- supporting sales reps and customers with product information
- troubleshooting
- field service work is required
Must also be able and willing to support warehouse shipping & receiving department. Opportunity to grow and move up within the company available.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license (non-CDL) is required.
Technical training, certification or experience is preferred but not required. All future needed training and certification will be covered through employment.
Ability and willingness to travel on-site to customer location for service jobs. Majority of jobs located in New York City, Long Island, and northern New Jersey.
Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills needed.
Responsible, organized, and hard-working candidates preferred.
Strong teamwork skills and desire to meet a professional, high level of customer service.
Competent computer skills preferred include use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. Must be physically able to lift/move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
