Position Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor of a
plastic injection molding facility. This includes supervising staff, ensuring safety compliance,
maintaining quality standards, optimizing production efficiency, and reducing downtime. The ideal
candidate will have strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of plastic injection molding
processes and equipment.
Shift:
Full-Time: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm but hours could vary.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise, train, and coordinate production staff to meet daily and weekly production goals.
- Monitor machine operations, material flow, and production schedules to ensure efficiency and
- timely output.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Identify and troubleshoot process and equipment issues, working closely with maintenance and
- engineering teams.
- Maintain accurate production records and submit required reports to management.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and 5S implementation.
- Lead shift changeovers with effective communication and documentation.
- Support employee performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and scheduling.
- Promote a positive work environment and high employee morale.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or related certification preferred.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, resins, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules.
- Proficient with MS Office and production tracking software (e.g., ERP/MES systems).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
