Job Summary
We are seeking an adaptive and technical Senior Geologist to help facilitate assessment, planning, and development activities. The successful candidate will need to be able to operate in a high-paced agile team structure with minimal direct oversight on a range of concurrent projects and timelines.
Preference will be placed on candidates that have co-developed a strong track record of subsurface characterization workflows across a range of technical platforms with operational excellence, direct commitments to safety, and timely execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, permit, and execute the drilling program and data collection efforts by defining geologic objectives, well targets, and required subsurface data, coordinating with internal teams and regulatory stakeholders to support operated drilling activities and post-well evaluation.
- Manage timelines, contracts, and resources for critical projects related to geologic studies, drilling support, and technical data acquisition, ensuring work is executed on schedule, within scope, and integrated into asset development workflows.
- Assist with characterization and technical assessments of resource recovery through the interpretation of well logs, core and cuttings data, pressure and production behavior, and geologic mapping to evaluate reservoir quality, continuity, and development risk.
- Work directly with Operation and Reservoir Engineers to integrate geologic interpretation with drilling execution, development planning, and performance evaluation, providing geologic input before, during, and after drilling activities.
- Support corporate workflows with presentation materials for executive review by preparing clear, technically defensible maps, cross sections, risk assessments, and summaries that inform development decisions and capital planning.
- Learn and present new workflows, technical assessments, and Oil & Gas software applications to advance subsurface understanding, including the development of integrated geologic products, maps, and visualizations required to answer critical questions
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- The Geologist is expected to become intimately knowledgeable regarding the oil and gas potential of the operating area and to lead the geoscience development activities through integrated subsurface interpretation and continuous learning.
- Lead Geoscience operational planning and execution in support of drilling, data acquisition, and post-well evaluation in coordination with Operations and Reservoir Engineering.
- Ability to Work in Petra, Kingdom, MS Office and learn new software as required
Supervisor Duties
- Supervise and/or mentor employees as assigned by providing technical guidance and oversight of geoscience work products.
- Responsible for directing work performed by the Company and contract personnel as necessary by defining scope, priorities, and deliverables aligned with asset objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in Geology required
Required Experience:
- 10+ years' experience in oil and gas exploration and development.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying commercial and economic quantities of oil or gas reserves through prior geological work.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer-based geoscience applications, including PETRA
- Excellent presentation skills with experience preparing materials for technical and leadership review
Compensation
The base compensation for this role in this location is targeted between $160,000 and $200,000 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the range listed above.

Work Conditions
Location:
This position is in Denver, CO. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, it is the expectation that the selected individual will be available at the work location.
Work Environment:
This position operates in an office environment. This entails working inside an office space wherein employees may be provided a public workstation (cubicle) or private office. From time to time, the role will require field visits where exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered.
Physical Demands:
In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individuals might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individuals might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.
Position Type and Working Hours:
This is a full-time position. Core work hours are from 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday, and 8:00am – 12:00pm on Friday. Employees must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and to participate in occasional meetings, events, seminars, conferences, or other activities outside of typical work hours. Employees responsible for project operations are expected to monitor and, in some cases, respond to emails, calls, or texts outside of business hours.
Travel:
Occasional travel to work site locations may be expected. Overnight stays may be required from time to time for training, seminars, field visits, or visits to onsite locations.
