Tunnel Engineer for OHLA USA, Inc. to report to our Queens, NY HQ loc. but working at multiple unanticipated locs in USA. Conduct prelim assessments + feasibility studies to determine tunnel proj viability. Dev eng'ring designs for tunnels + underground structures. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Involves underground tunnel work that requires occasional climbing, stooping, crawling, + passenger use of construction personnel hoists. May involve occ eve + wknd hrs. Daily local travel to worksite may be required. Salary range is $116,000-$125,000 annually. Must have Bach in Geological Eng'ring, Mining Eng'ring, Civil Eng'ring or rel field, 5 yrs rel exp in tunnel construction, and required skills (5 yrs exp). In the alternative, must have Masters in Geological Eng'ring, Mining Eng'ring, Civil Eng'ring or rel field, 4 yrs rel exp in tunnel construction, and required skills (4 yrs exp). Required skills: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Slide; surveying using Leica Total Stations; and instrumentation for underground excavation (extensometers, inclinometers, piezometers, strain gauges, or seismographs).
