Additionally, we serve power plants, EOD contractors, law enforcement, and demolition firms. We provide a full line of explosive products, shot service crews, drill and shoot contracts, blast design, 3D profiling, Boretrak testing, and shot rock service.

Overview

Buckley Powder is seeking a licensed and experienced blaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license and a minimum of one year of blasting experience in construction or quarry blasting. This position requires the highest safety standards and attention to detail in practice and with documentation.

Blasters are expected to safely load and control all blast activities. Candidates should be able to regularly pick up and carry 50 pounds, sometimes on uneven terrain. A state blasting license is required, and additional blast training will be provided for qualified candidates. The pay scale is dependent on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Valid state blasting license
  • Pass ATF background check
  • Pass a Drug Test
  • Clean MVR and Background
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Reliable and customer-oriented
  • Safety oriented
  • Ability to follow written and /or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies or procedures

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • The workday commences early and strict adherence to punctuality and attendance is expected.
  • Knowledgeable of and compliance with applicable DOT, OSHA, MSHA, EPA and BATFE regulations, and governing agencies as well as any other applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain all records and reports concerning the use and detonation of explosives, including safety, to assure accurate billing, regulatory compliance, and performance history.
  • Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment.
  • Maintain vehicles, re-fuel, and wash unit.
  • Team-oriented - working with a crew on production.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after the route.

Work environment:

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to hazardous materials and machinery at work sites.
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
  • Frequent long-distance driving, road hazards, and machinery at work sites
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of trucks.
  • Frequently required to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear.


8-hour shift, plus probable Overtime
40 - 55 Hours per week
