Position Summary: The OSP Coordinator is responsible for the timely movement of material from SIG Operations to outside vendors. This position also receives the material once it is processed through external vendors. The OSP Coordinator works with the OSP Supervisor and/or Planning Manager as well as manufacturing to determine the priorities to be executed upon.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials, products, and supplies in the proper inventory location. Responsible for updating and reconciling quantities if needed.
  • Evaluate, trace, and correct data related issues. Able to perform troubleshooting into transactional actions and audits to determine the correct outcome. Responsible for coordinating with internal support groups if there are any issues.
  • Can perform scrap transactions upon direction of the OSP Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Creation of a work order and processing in progression as outlined on the work order. Requisition of material is created from the warehouse and material is issued. The work order should be moved through Oracle. Responsible for Government Work Orders. Responsible for initiating change requests, routers, and prints within Agile as needed.
  • Assist the OSP Supervisor and Manager with the coordination of work orders.
  • Assist in expediting material when needed. Responsible for performing OSP cycle counts and making inventory adjustments as needed.
  • Move materials through the process using the ERP system and performing cycle counts.
  • Responsible for conducting analysis to identify and correct OSP vendor invoices. Provide necessary documentation to OSP vendors when requested.
  • Process Class III devices to OSP vendors and coordinate the SIG escort of material to and from the vendors as needed.
  • Responsible for forecasting raw parts and to determine what is needed using Cognos. Communicate demand needs with Planners as needed.
  • Creation of standard PO’s and expense PO’s up to $10,000. Verify pricing and commitments to vendors. Ability to create Government PO’s. Place orders for supplies and services for the department as needed.
  • Look at parts to ensure proper serial numbers and that all parts are properly machined and deburred.
  • Actively seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality, productivity, and satisfy customer needs and expectations. Initiate and encourage others to resolve impediments and act on improvement opportunities.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Must follow all required safety and ISO procedures.
  • Participates in and sustains 5S standards.

Education/Experience & Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, requires 5+ years of previous experience working in an inventory or production control environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations.
  • Familiarity with Master Production Schedules and work orders is preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle is preferred but not necessary.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to drive a 1-ton van.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form.
  • Help in other parts of the team on a regular basis. Work with and relay information to other departments regularly.
  • Work ahead of schedule, looking for more. Possess the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Participate on problem solving teams for driving to root cause of internal and external quality failures, particularly related to prevention of customer escapes.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
  • Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
  • The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
  • Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts.
  • Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
