Job DescriptionNOW HIRING!!! Top food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Building Technician with Mechanic, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and facility maintenance experience to repair mechanical/electrical issues and perform other maintenance fixtures. This position is a potential direct hire opportunity, based on experience, references and qualified skills to perform essential job duties. We welcome all entry level maintenance technicians to apply. Company is seeking full-time, maintenance mechanics with at least 2 or more years of experienced preferred. Electrical background a plus.
Hourly Schedule: 2nd Shift, (swing shift hours between morning and afternoon, all overtime hours only approved by supervisors of department.)Hourly Pay: $27.00 (payrate based on experience level between entry to expert)

Job Summary: Maintenance Mechanic position requires professional level preventative machine mechanical repair experience, Heavy lifting, occasional fork-lift operation, electrical and mechanical work with various tools. Working conditions can be physically and mentally challenging but is NOT limited to the following:

  • Repair and maintain building infrastructure and grounds (walls, flooring, plumbing, landscaping, electrical, painting, snow plowing, etc.).
  • Perform building safety and regulatory audits. Correct actions when applicable to building maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Move equipment and machinery safely using standard lifting, rigging, hoisting, blocking, and disconnect techniques.
  • Install equipment using floor anchors and/or other methods.
  • Research and compile parts lists necessary to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Perform all work in a safe, thorough, and professional manner.
  • Complete assigned tasks within productive time frames.
  • Accurately document work performed, including time taken and parts used.
  • Promote a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively and fostering good relationships with coworkers, associates, and management.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to personnel authorized to take action.
  • Assist other maintenance areas as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.


Skills and Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of experience in maintenance tech
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
  • Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
  • Experience with manufacturing plants and electrical repair preferred
  • Hardware and Software experience
  • Electrical panel and drive components
  • A/C and D/C motors knowledge
  • Experience with Gear trains, shafts/journals, pulleys, bushings, and bearings

- Experience in industrial maintenance is preferred
- Proficiency in electrical systems and low voltage equipment
- Familiarity with hydraulics and their maintenance
- Ability to operate scissor lifts safely
