Full Time Speech Language Pathologist/SLP

Synergy Care is adding an additional speech language pathologist to our staff at our long-term care facility in Baytown, TX. Whether you are an experienced therapist or a CF, we would love to have you join our team.

Job Description:

• Conducting assessments: Evaluating patients to determine eligibility for therapy and developing individualized treatment plans.
• Implementing therapy sessions: Planning and executing therapy sessions that address communication and swallowing disorders.
• Documenting patient progress: Keeping detailed records of patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborating with other professionals: Working with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and other therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
• Providing education and support: Educating patients and their families about communication strategies and techniques to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
• Staying current with research: Engaging in continuous professional development and staying informed about advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
• These roles are essential for the development of clinical competence and the transition from academic training to independent clinical practice.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
• Graduation within the next six (6) months is acceptable
• Current ASHA Certification of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility for certification
• Valid state license (where appropriate) as a Speech Therapist
