A healthcare facility in Kuna, ID, is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a contract position providing prehensive respiratory care across diverse hospital units. This role requires an adaptable respiratory professional fortable working with a wide patient population including NICU Level IIB, MICU, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics. The position involves a dynamic workload averaging 25-28 treatments during an 8-hour shift, covering emergency room and inpatient floors.
Key qualifications include certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with BLS, ACLS, and PALS credentials. For NICU assignments, NRP certification is required. Candidates must have at least two years of experience and be confident floating among specialties such as ICU, MICU, Med-Surg Telemetry, and ER. First-time travelers are weled to apply. Demonstrated ability to manage respiratory equipment, perform arterial blood gases, and assist with intubation is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct respiratory treatments including overnight oximetry and PACU support
- Perform arterial blood gas sampling (radial and brachial)
- Manage and operate respiratory equipment such as Drager V500, Hamilton, ReVel, V60, and Vapotherm
- Float across hospital units and sister facilities within a 50-mile radius with advance notice
- Collaborate with Respiratory Managers, Supervisors, Intensivists, and Anesthesia teams
- Participate in weekend rotations and potential holiday coverage with a flexible schedule
- Adhere to professional dress standards; any clean and professional scrub color is acceptable
- plete 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor
Shifts available include Days (7:00 AM7:30 PM), Evenings (11:00 AM11:30 PM), and Nights (7:00 PM7:30 AM), with self-scheduling and occasional shift trading among staff to fill gaps.
