Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role involves performing both routine and advanced sonographic exams, adhering to established protocols and guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic data. The position is based in Urbana, IL, offering a contract employment type with potential flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct ultrasound imaging exams by selecting appropriate protocols and techniques for optimal imaging results.
- Analyze patient history, lab results, and radiology orders to ensure exam accuracy and medical necessity.
- Collaborate with radiologists to review cases and provide necessary clinical information.
- Maintain and operate imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions or service requirements promptly.
- Manage the workspace by ensuring supplies are stocked and maintaining an organized environment.
- Use PACS and digital systems to transfer, verify, and send imaging data for interpretations.
- Promote safety by identifying and reporting any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
- Provide guidance and training to students and new staff members when needed.
- Support productivity benchmarks by assisting other modalities within the department as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in imaging techniques for ultrasound, with a strong understanding of sonography principles.
- Experienced in reviewing and interpreting patient history and radiology orders to confirm exam appropriateness.
- Skilled in operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment and digital imaging systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality standards, and protocol compliance.
- Flexibility to perform or support related imaging modalities if licensed.
