About the Role:
The Finish Carpenter plays a critical role in the final stages of construction and renovation projects, ensuring that all woodwork and detailed carpentry elements meet high standards of quality and craftsmanship. This position involves interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to accurately install cabinetry, millwork, fascia, and other finish carpentry components in both residential and commercial settings. The Finish Carpenter will work closely with project managers and other tradespeople to deliver aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound finishes that enhance the overall appearance and functionality of the space. Attention to detail, precision, and a strong understanding of materials and tools are essential to successfully complete projects on time and within budget. Ultimately, the Finish Carpenter contributes to creating polished, professional environments that meet client specifications and industry standards at locations including Brookside Apartments, CT30 and Dwight, CT18.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a finish carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools related to finish carpentry.
- Knowledge of cabinetry, millwork, and upholstery techniques.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites at Brookside Apartments, CT30 and Dwight, CT18.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal carpentry training or apprenticeship completion.
- Experience working on commercial building projects.
- Familiarity with renovation processes and materials.
- Certification in safety training such as OSHA.
- Basic upholstery skills to complement finish carpentry work.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan finish carpentry work accurately.
- Measure, cut, shape, and install wood and other materials for cabinetry, millwork, fascia, and trim.
- Perform finish carpentry tasks such as installing doors, windows, moldings, and built-in furniture with precision.
- Collaborate with renovation teams and commercial building contractors to ensure seamless integration of finish carpentry elements.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and adhere to safety protocols on job sites.
