Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide expert nursing care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit setting, delivering direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients. This contract role involves working closely with patients and families to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care, adhering to established protocols and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
- Manage patient care with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3 for pediatric or SAC status patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, documenting all according to policy.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams and families to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge needs, and health maintenance.
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel during shifts.
- Maintain competency through unit-specific education and testing regarding pediatric patient care and protocols.
- Flexibility to float between departments or local locations within a 20-mile radius as needed.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with specialized experience or certification in Pediatric Intensive Care.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage complex pediatric patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
