Position Overview

The Medical Device Service Technician (Repair) performs repair, maintenance, and quality assurance tasks for HEINE diagnostic instruments. This role ensures that customers receive timely, accurate, and high-quality technical service.

Key Responsibilities

Repair & Technical Work

  • Repair and maintain all HEINE diagnostic instruments.
  • Independently process customer returns: diagnose issues, troubleshoot, and complete repairs.
  • Conduct damage and failure investigations and create detailed reports.
  • Ensure all repairs meet HEINE’s strict quality standards.

Documentation & Systems

  • Document service activities accurately in the ERP system.
  • Analyze customer returns, assign error codes, and support complaint evaluations.
  • Prepare service reports, statistics, and performance metrics.
  • Create repair guides, work instructions, and procedural standards.
  • Process and manage tickets in the HEINE ticket system.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate with customers and internal teams (Customer Service, Production, R&D) to resolve technical questions.
  • Support continuous improvement using HEINE Lean methods to eliminate waste.
  • Comply with occupational health and safety guidelines.
  • Contribute to department projects as needed.

Qualifications — Willing to Train

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in technical, hands-on work.
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency; willingness to learn ERP/ticket systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.

Preferred (but not required — training provided):

  • Experience with electronics, precision instruments, or medical device repair.
  • Familiarity with Lean/continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to read diagrams, schematics, or technical documents.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, repair, or a technical field.
