We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee and manage civil engineering projects within the oil and gas sector. This role involves ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory standards while effectively communicating with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

This role will report to one of the following locations: Charlotte, Asheville, Raleigh, Wilmington, Greensboro, Columbia, Charleston, Florence, Greenville-Spartanburg, or Myrtle Beach

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage civil engineering projects in the oil and gas/energy sector from conception through completion.
  • Direct multi-disciplined teams on design and permitting for natural gas distribution and transmission projects.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Coordinate environmental, natural, and cultural resource assessments for projects in new and existing utility easements.
  • Manage permitting processes including Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plans, Floodplain Development Permits, DOT and Utility Encroachments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards while implementing quality assurance practices.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
  • Conduct site visits and maintain strong client relationships to ensure expectations are exceeded.
  • Support business development through proposal preparation and strategic client engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Minimum 6 years of civil engineering experience in the energy market, with specific experience in the onshore oil and gas industry.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Project Manager leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling tools, and risk management.
  • Proven experience with permitting and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to client development, proposal writing, and team collaboration.
