Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in an acute care setting requiring a CA RN license and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position is in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
- 21-bed unit with fast track staffed by midlevels and LVNs
- Patient ratio of 1:4, or 1:2 for ICU-level patients
- Typical ER patient population, with occasional MedSurg Telemetry holds
- Uses Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry equipment
- 12-hour night shifts with self-scheduling finalized by the manager
- Weekend requirement is four weekend shifts per four-week schedule, with nights counted as Friday and Saturday
- May float between two nearby ERs, with advance or mid-shift notice possible
- On-call standby may be required with a 30-minute report time if called in
- Orientation consists of two shifts at the primary campus and one shift at the secondary campus
- Must be team-oriented and flexible, as ER patient volume can fluctuate significantly
- This is a primary job and secondary employment cannot be accommodated
- Must wear navy blue scrubs; jackets and undershirts must be navy, white, or black
- At least one major and one minor holiday coverage required during assignment
- Unit utilizes a shift manager, resource nurse, and ED techs (EMTs or aides)
- Hospitalist or intensivist available in-house, and uses MDs in the ER
- RT and pharmacy services are available 24/7, and Omnicell system is used
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Candidates may not have worked as a direct employee for any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year

- Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending not accepted
- Minimum three years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Two references required: one supervisor from last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from last three years
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
