Job Description

Hiring Bonus: $500
One Year Retention Bonus: $750

Location: San Francisco, California
Job Title: Healthcare Services Prevention Professional
Job Type: Full-Time, non-exempt, with benefits
Hours: Average of 40 hours per week, on-site
Shifts: Four 10-hour shifts - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - 10:30am - 9:00pm
Hourly Range: $30 - $37
*negotiable based on credentials and experience

Position Overview:

As a Healthcare Services Prevention Professional (HSPP), you will apply your clinical expertise, combined with specialized training from our team, to deliver injury-prevention services directly at client worksites, within an inpatient hospital setting. You will serve as an on-site consultant as part of the Health Center Injury Prevention & Safe Patient Handling (HCIP/SPHM) Program, focusing on early intervention, risk reduction, and employee well-being.

In this role, you will:

  • Build strong working relationships with employees (“industrial athletes”) and client stakeholders.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to prevent workplace injuries.
  • Support safe patient-handling practices, where applicable.
  • Educate employees and leaders via small or large group class instruction on injury-prevention strategies and best practices.
  • Work autonomously on a structured schedule while collaborating closely with the larger HCIP/SPHM team.

Job Duties:

  • Provide on-site Healthcare Prevention services at up to six locations in the San Francisco Bay area.
  • Utilizing BART, pubic transportation, and client shuttle services required.
  • Educate employees and leaders via small or large group class instruction on injury-prevention strategies and best practices.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing execution of the Health Center Injury Prevention & Safe Patient Handling (HCIP/SPHM) programs.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with employees, department leaders, and client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the client’s Safety Department, assisting with a variety of safety-related tasks and initiatives that may vary based on departmental needs.
  • Perform regular workplace safety assessments and rounding in healthcare departments to identify potential hazards, escalate concerns, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Complete all required documentation promptly and accurately to ensure full compliance with client and organizational HCIP/SPHM standards.
  • Track services, findings, and recommendations in alignment with program and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field.
  • Appropriate certifications and/or state license in good standing in each state where team member provides service.
  • Current CPR Certification CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, BLS Healthcare Provider, or equivalent certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of musculoskeletal injury care.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service.
  • Ergonomic Certification or training preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years previous experience in industrial or office ergonomics, industrial sports medicine, functional employment testing, or job task analysis preferred but not required.
  • Must meet the physical demands of on-site work needs; ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and or squatting*.
