Job Description

The Mechanical Estimator is primarily responsible for the preparation of complete Mechanical (and related) estimates for hard bids, negotiated bids, conceptual budgets, pre-construction proposals, and design-build proposals. Responsibilities will include attending pre-bid meetings, preparing scopes of work, calculating complete Mechanical takeoffs, soliciting bids, maintaining subcontractor relationships, and following awarded projects through to turnover to Operations.
Required Skills
Ability to takeoff HVAC & Plumbing systems using Quote soft, Quote Express software.
Cultivate relationships with vendors for material quotes.
Organize and manage the estimating database.
Create Scope of work & contracts for negotiated projects.
Understanding job specifications and local codes.
Field experience in HVAC and plumbing installation is a plus.
Self-Motivated and team player attitude.

Beneficial Extras:

5+ years of estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience with at least 5+ in estimating mechanical systems.
Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, Expert knowledge in mechanical systems, and the costs associated with these systems.
Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus the ability to coordinate and supervise group work effort.
Excellent Organizational Skills
Demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Must be goal-oriented and a self-starter
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
Strong communication and analytical skills
