1.Perform troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance activities as necessary to keep industrial equipment operating efficiently. Tasks may include, but are not limited to motors, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, air and water piping, and production machines. Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
2.Work as part of a team, communicating and cooperating to achieve the required results.
3.Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement activities as required by supervision.
4.Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
5.Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shift work, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
6.Proficiency in using hand and power tools, cranes/hoists, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Safety and housekeeping are the first consideration in all plant activities. Employees must consistently demonstrate an understanding of all plant and departmental safety rules and policies and put housekeeping as a top priority.
2.Must have a safe work history.
3.Responsible for performing all assignments as delegated by the Maintenance Supervisor. Must be able to take direction from more experienced operators. Must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team.
4.Must effectively communicate with all levels and departments to maintain and improve relationships throughout the plant.
5.Must know and demonstrate the ability to properly follow lockout procedures.
6.Must know and demonstrate the ability to access and properly follow VWI procedures.
7.Must become familiar with the plant work order system.
8.Must have regular and predictable attendance.
9.Responsible for maintaining a set of personal hand tools.
10.Must demonstrate the ability to safely use plant power tools (Eg drill press, band saw, angle grinders, cut off tool, etc.).
11.Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend blueprints and sketches.
12.Must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical problems within the plant.
13.Report any unsafe condition or defective equipment to the supervisor immediately.
14.Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of this position. Negotiate steps and ladders, crawl under and around tight spaces.
15.Mechanical and technical skills include but are not limited to: Equipment lubrication, equipment fabrication, welding/cutting (stick, mig, oxyacetylene and plasma), pump rebuilds, conveying system maintenance.
16.Basic knowledge of rigging principles and equipment.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
