About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager or Project Estimator to support the Power Uprates Program at the McGuire and Catawba Nuclear Stations. This program plays a critical role in enhancing generation capacity, reliability, and efficiency across nuclear operations. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for a diverse portfolio of engineering analysis, licensing, and equipment replacement projects essential to the power uprates initiative.

This position offers a hybrid schedule with regular onsite collaboration and some week-to-week flexibility. Candidates with strong experience in project execution within nuclear or utility environments will find this an exceptional opportunity to contribute to one of the most technically advanced and safety-driven programs in the energy industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects supporting power uprate implementation, including engineering design reviews, licensing coordination, construction planning, and equipment replacement efforts.
  • Oversee full project lifecycle — from conceptual development through closeout — ensuring scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety targets are consistently achieved.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, procurement, and licensing teams to integrate project deliverables within established nuclear regulatory and operational frameworks.
  • Manage and validate detailed cost estimates, resource forecasts, and schedule performance across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Utilize data-driven tools and methodologies to support project tracking, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Provide transparent communication, risk management, and performance reporting to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and all NRC, INPO, and OSHA safety and quality requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 9 years of project management experience, OR 5 years of project management experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Proven proficiency in project management principles, cost estimating, and coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex capital projects in highly regulated environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering Management, or a related field.
  • PMP, CAPM, CMII, or Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with project scheduling, cost controls, and performance tracking tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, etc.).
  • Background in utility, nuclear, or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction management principles, project governance, and risk management frameworks.
