Lead Pharmacist
The Lead Pharmacist at Fuze Health is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services while guiding the daily clinical and operational activities of the pharmacy. Reporting to the Pharmacy Operations Leader, this leadership position oversees pharmacy staff, drives operational excellence, supports clinical initiatives, and ensures the highest standards of patient care and regulatory adherence across the FuzeRx location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Provide daily leadership and direction to staff pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and delivery personnel to ensure efficient workflows, high-quality service, and a collaborative team environment.
- Clinical Oversight & Verification: Perform advanced prescription verification, drug utilization reviews, and complex clinical assessments; serve as an escalation point for clinical decision-making and patient consultations.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure strict compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation requirements, and internal policies. Oversee documentation accuracy and audit readiness.
- Operational Coordination: Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of medications, continuity of care, and alignment with organizational service standards.
- Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement: Lead quality assurance initiatives, monitor key performance indicators, and implement process improvements to enhance safety, accuracy, and service delivery.
- Training & Staff Development: Mentor and train pharmacy staff, support onboarding, promote professional development, and reinforce best practices throughout the pharmacy team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal team including clinical, operational, and administrative groups to support strategic objectives, improve workflows, and elevate patient care.
- Patient Confidentiality & Safety: Ensure all staff adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards, safeguarding patient information and promoting a culture of safety and ethical practice.
- Operational Excellence & Resource Management: Optimize pharmacy workflows, maintain accurate inventory and medication management processes, and support continuous improvements in efficiency and patient service.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Active, clear, and unrestricted Pharmacist license in your state of residence.
- Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the applicable Board of Pharmacy.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy experience, preferably with prior leadership or advanced clinical responsibilities.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills within a pharmacy setting.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and high ethical standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work for extended periods at a computer workstation, as needed.
