Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Dedicated registered nurses with PACU experience are sought to deliver expert clinical care in a dynamic surgical recovery setting. This contract position offers the opportunity to practice compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The role focuses on efficient and safe patient management, consistent with established standards and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments, prioritizing care based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans aligned with nursing standards.
- Administer interventions and treatments with timely documentation.
- Execute various point-of-care testing procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to educate and plan safe discharge.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately and coordinate team assignments to ensure quality care delivery.
- Support unit growth through participation in orientation, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional, respectful interactions that uphold patient rights and confidentiality.
- Adapt to changing schedules and emergency situations, including on-call duties.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Active New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications by the American Heart Association.
- Current PACU clinical skills with knowledge tailored to patient age groups served.
- Strong communication and critical thinking abilities.
- Physical capability to handle demanding tasks including patient transfers and equipment management.
- Willingness to work one on-call night weekly and two weekends per month.
