Job Description

Job Title: HVAC Service Technician


Location: San Francisco, CA (30% Travel Role)


Salary: $40/hr - $60/hr

Tiello is partnering with a highly respected HVAC solutions provider on their search for a Senior HVAC Service Technician to support key accounts across California and beyond. This is a critical hire for a seasoned technician who brings an understanding of boilers, package units, start-up processes and hydronic systems.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, service, and maintenance on boilers, hydronic systems, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Integrate and optimize control systems (BAS/BMS) to ensure system-level performance and efficiency.
  • Provide on-site diagnostics and technical support for complex HVAC systems in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Collaborate with service coordinators on scheduling, job tracking, and client updates.
  • Maintain and enforce safety standards in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Mentor junior technicians and support the development of a scalable service team.
  • Travel throughout California, with occasional out-of-state service assignments as needed.


Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience servicing HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, and hydronics.
  • Strong working knowledge of building automation systems (BAS/BMS), including controls integration and system diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience - formally or informally.
  • High-level customer service and communication skills.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • Trade school graduate or equivalent technical training preferred.
  • Experience working with OEMs such as Trane, Carrier, Daikin, JCI, Siemens is highly preferred.
  • Open to candidates transitioning from a union role seeking leadership opportunity and greater ownership.
  • Willingness to travel throughout California and occasionally beyond.
