Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A skilled Cardiac Sonographer with expertise in comprehensive echocardiography is sought for a 13-week contract opportunity in Kernersville, NC. This role involves working within a fast-paced, academic medical center known for its commitment to high-quality patient care and advanced cardiac diagnostics. Candidates will engage in a variety of studies including transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and advanced cardiac procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies including 2D, Doppler, color flow, 3D, strain, and contrast imaging
- Conduct stress and dobutamine stress echo studies, and assist with interventional procedures as needed
- Manage intravenous line procedures, with preferred training in IV management
- Collaborate closely with RNs, electrophysiologists, and departmental leadership to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Provide services across main hospital and satellite locations within the regional health system
- Utilize EMR systems such as EPIC and department-specific equipment including Philips and GE echocardiography systems
- Participate in weekend rotations and holiday shifts based on unit requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a cardiac sonographer in an echo lab setting
- National certification such as RDCS (ARDMS), RCS, or ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Proficient in advanced echo techniques and cardiac imaging modalities
- Ability to float to satellite sites when necessary
- Strong teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary clinical environment
