Job Description

Job DescriptionJob Purpose:Performs a variety of confidential administrative and credentialing functions for the Medical Staff. Initiates and follows through on the appointment/change in status process for the medical staff and allied health professionals making sure that applications and supporting documents are up to date and current.
Minimum Requirements: Education & Qualifications: Associate's degree or equivalent of two years of secretarial studies
Required Licenses/Certifications: Certified Medical Staff Coordinator strongly preferred
Work Experience: Three years of experience with medical staff credentialing processesPhysical Demands & Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment and requires hand dexterity for computer, telephone and other office machine operation, stooping and bending for supplies, sitting for extended periods of time. Prolonged computer use may cause eyestrain.
Special Requirements: Verbal and writing ability required to communicate effectively in informing employees of activities and policies. Numerical ability required. Ability to receive, comprehend, and carry out instructions; ability to work safely with equipment, supplies, and materials; ability to comply with attendance requirements; ability to comply with Human Resource policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Provides leadership and guidance to other leaders and staff in goal setting, problem solving, resource management and outcome achievement• Processes all medical staff and allied health staff applications• Maintains current master copy of all medical staff members and allied health staff members Delineation of Privilege Forms. • Processes all inquiries and requests for information regarding present and past staff members from other healthcare entities• Provides, as requested, support secretarial services to the medical staff• Coordinates all medical staff department and committee meetings. Prepares agendas and reports• Performs other duties as assigned
