The Medical Assistant / Scribe supports Pediatric ENT providers by delivering efficient, compassionate patient care while ensuring accurate real-time clinical documentation. This role is essential to maintaining clinic flow, supporting families, and allowing providers to focus on patient care in a fast-paced pediatric specialty environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support (Medical Assistant Duties)
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure all equipment and supplies are ready for pediatric visits
- Room patients promptly and accurately
- Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, medical history, medications, and allergies
- Assist providers with in-office ENT procedures (e.g., ear cleanings, nasal endoscopy, foreign body removal, audiology-related visits)
- Administer medications or treatments as directed and within scope
- Provide patient and parent education regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and child-friendly clinical environment
- Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA standards at all times
- Scribing & Documentation
- Accurately document provider-patient encounters in real time within the EHR
- Record histories, physical exam findings, procedures, assessments, and plans as directed by the provider
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and ready for provider review and signature
- Assist with orders, referrals, imaging requests, and follow-up instructions as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with documentation standards
