Position Summary: We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced bookkeeper and accounting administrator to join our in-house finance team to support our other team members. This is an in-office role at our Morristown, TN, location with the flexibility of occasional remote work (most days in-office expected). The primary responsibilities of this role will be bookkeeping for our commercial and retail properties and convenience stores via QuickBooks and reconciliation of reports via Modisoft, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and providing a crucial support to our lead controller. You will help oversee financial activities, as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- QuickBooks Management for various properties and stores:
- Perform comprehensive bookkeeping tasks daily, weekly, and monthly using QuickBooks.
- Accurately record and categorize all financial transactions, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
- Conduct thorough bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Reconcile invoices and statements from vendors to ensure accurate recording of payable and receivable.
- Manage and maintain the company's chart of accounts within QuickBooks.
- Generate and analyze various financial reports (e.g., Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets) from QuickBooks to support decision-making.
- Financial Operations Support:
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Prepare and pose journal entries as needed.
- Support the lead accountant/controller in preparing for external audits and tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles and company policies.
- Payroll Processing:
- Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, including deductions and tax filings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in bookkeeping and accounting roles
- Software Proficiency: Demonstrated expert-level proficiency with QuickBooks (Online). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with Modisoft is preferred. Experience with other accounting software is a plus.

Work Environment:
- This is an in-office role in our Morristown, TN office for in-person collaboration. Some remaining work can be performed remotely from a dedicated home office. Candidates must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable workspace for remote work.
