JOB SUMMARYThe Entry Level Laboratory Technician position is designed to train new technicians on one of the four analytical aisles in the QC laboratory. In this role, the technician will prepare process and/or finished product samples, perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems. The technician must complete training on one aisle prior to transitioning to the Laboratory Technician I position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare process and finished product samples for analysis.
- Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.
- Record results accurately using computerized data systems.
- Complete plant and laboratory safety orientations.
- Work safely and comply with all department and plant safety policies.
- React immediately to eliminate hazards and report accidents, injuries, and near misses.
- Perform at least one Laboratory Safety audit per month.
- Complete a minimum of 3 safety engagements each month.
- Demonstrate sufficient math skills for lab calculations.
- Demonstrate ability to accept instruction, coaching, and constructive criticism.
- Demonstrate computer skills for data entry and reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by quality department management.
Required Qualifications
- No previous laboratory experience required.
- Completion of a college science lab preferred (experience in lieu of education considered).
- Ability to work within the time demands of a 24/7/365 operation.
- Strong multitasking ability and willingness to learn.
- Solid understanding of laboratory environment and regulatory requirements (cGMP, FDA).
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC, IC) beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in science through schooling or work experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Long-term work history (preference for candidates with stable employment patterns).

Education RequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent; college science coursework preferred.
