Join a Team That Has Been Caring for Seniors with Heart Since 1962

Are you a compassionate CNA who loves making a real difference in the lives of seniors? Perhaps you’re not a morning person or you prefer to have your mornings free – whether for school, appointments, or family time? If so, you’ll love our evening shift — a great fit for CNAs who prefer starting later in the day while still ending at a reasonable hour.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Support overall resident well-being and safety

  • Assist residents with mobility, personal care, and daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.

  • Assist with mobility exercises as instructed by the care plan

  • Take and record vital signs, fluid intake, and output accurately

  • Assist with evening routines such as dinner, bathing, and preparation for bedtime

  • Document residents’ behaviors, mood changes, and any significant observations

  • Monitor residents for safety, comfort, and medical needs (if applicable)

  • Ensure call lights are answered promptly

  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions promptly to the nursing staff

  • Follow infection control procedures, including proper use of PPE

  • Observe and report safety hazards in the resident care areas

  • Assist in emergency situations as directed by the charge nurse

  • Communicate important care updates to the Charge Nurse

  • Ensure residents’ rooms and personal spaces are clean, safe, and comfortable

  • Support licensed nurses (RNs/LPNs) in carrying out care procedures

  • Assist with documentation and handoff reports to overnight shift staff

  • Help train or mentor new CNAs or nursing assistants (if experienced)

  • Additional job duties as required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25–50 lbs

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods

  • Ability to assist with resident transfers safely (including use of mechanical lifts)

Work Requirements:

  • Must pass a criminal background check

  • Must have a negative TB test or be willing to complete one

  • Must meet facility immunization requirements (e.g., flu shot, COVID-19 if applicable)

  • Must follow infection prevention and safety protocols

  • Ability to work the evening shift

  • Willingness to take part in scheduled weekend/holiday rotations

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Active CNA certification in the state of South Dakota (preferred, but not required)

  • Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing (preferred, but not required)

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

  • Ability to successfully pass CNA certification training, if applicable

  • Comfortable working with the geriatric population

  • Patient and attentive to residents’ needs

  • Ability to follow care plans and instructions

  • Dependable with strong attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills with residents, families, and nursing staff

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a care team

  • Eager to grow professionally while contributing to a mission that truly matters

Here’s what we offer:

  • Starting wage at $19/hour (higher based on experience)
