Job DescriptionHolt of California is proud to be part of the elite group of Caterpillar dealers worldwide. We sell, service, and rent a wide-variety of equipment Including Large and Small Construction Tractors, Forklifts, and Prime/Stand-by-Power Generation.
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN REDDING CA FOR THE CHICO/OROVILLE AREA.
POSITION SUMMARY
Repairs and maintains electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks at customers’ sites.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reads job order and observes, listens, and diagnoses all types of lift trucks in operation to determine malfunction to plan work procedures.
- Installs new ignition systems, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmission and other parts.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments.
- Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
- Fabricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
- Remove and rebuild transmissions and differentials.
- Remove and replace engines.
- Perform complete brake repairs and adjustments.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems.
- Repair documentation and paperwork completed and turned in on a daily basis.
- Drive to customers’ location.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write service reports.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to fulfill the essential functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school or GED; and/or five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, power generation, control systems and safety related to electricity.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must have a valid driver license and a clean DMV report. Must have a forklift Operator Safety Certificate.
COMPENSATION
Wage Range $34.25 to $40
Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
